It’s all come down to this. The Walking Dead season 4 finale airs tonight on AMC and should be a barnburner of an episode.
Titled “A,” The Walking Dead season 4, episode 16 should unveil new details about the mysterious Terminus which didn’t look too trustworthy when it made its first appearance last Sunday.
It’s clear that Rick, Michonne, and Carl will be arriving at Terminus during “A.” We suspect that Rick won’t feel all too comfortable with this new environment when he’s greeted by meat cook Mary at the door. And while the U.S. trailer didn’t reveal any interesting footage, an international trailer out of New Zealand certainly does:
The synopsis for The Walking Dead season 4 finale reads, “As multiple paths collide, Rick comes face to face with sheer brutality. Will he and the group have what it takes to survive?”
The season on a whole had its highs and lows but was split into two very clear halves. The first half of the season found our survivors still at the prison, where they were during season 3, battling an infection. At the mid-season 4 finale things were shaken up dramatically when The Governor came down hard on the prison and forced everyone to flee. Since then, Rick, Carol, and everyone else (except Hershel… RIP) has been on the road trying to find one another and where they’ll take cover next.
Will Terminus be a new place for everyone to live, or is it too good to be true? We’re leaning towards the latter. In a Reddit AMA earlier this week, executive producer Robert Kirkman made it sound like the finale will be one to remember. “People are going to be talking about this one,” he wrote. “The cliffhanger at the end of season 4 will make the wait between seasons 4 and 5 the hardest wait we’ve ever had.”
He went on to describe tonight’s episode as “savage.” Uh oh.
The Walking Dead season 4, episode 16 airs Sunday, March 30 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific. Tonight’s Talking Dead will welcome guests Andrew Lincoln (who plays Rick) and show runner Scott M. Gimple.
