Characters will scramble to make effective moves in rapidly evolving circumstances when Game of Thrones season 4, episode 4 airs on HBO. The episode, titled “Oathkeeper,” appears to focus on the plans put forth by Jon, Jaime, and others as new imperatives make themselves known.



The official synopsis for Game of Thrones season 4, episode 4 says:

Dany balances justice and mercy. Jaime tasks Brienne with his honor. Jon secures volunteers while Bran, Jojen, Meera and Hodor stumble on shelter.

On last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, Tyrion found himself imprisoned for Joffrey’s murder, while Sansa escaped with Littlefinger. As Cersei and Jaime endured a colossal collapse in communication, Tywin made plans with Oberyn Martell and his grandson Tommen. Elsewhere, Davos queried the Iron Bank of Braavos, while Arya learned that the Hound could still disappoint her.

Up in the North, Sam sent Gilly to Molestown, and Jon made difficult choices in response to brutality by his former wildling buddies. Meanwhile, Daenerys made her play for the city of Meereen with one sellsword, one speech, and a storm of broken chains.
